Over the past 2 years, the Snohomish County Early Learning Coalition conducted a thorough exploration to identify the most effective local strategies for enhancing our early learning system and addressing existing gaps. Representative Julio Cortes has been instrumental in this initiative, championing a budget proviso that enables us to launch the Leadership Council and establish a partnership with DCYF. This collaboration will empower us to make significant progress in strengthening early learning opportunities for all children in our community.

The Early Learning Leadership Council will lead the development of a comprehensive local early learning report. This report will tackle specific challenges in our early learning system through a racial and social equity lens. It will provide actionable recommendations and outline clear pathways for funding these solutions.

The Leadership Council is set to launch in January 2025, with meetings scheduled up to twice a month. By June 2025, we will present a robust report and a strategic plan that will direct the future initiatives of the Leadership Council, ensuring significant and impactful progress for our community.
